French Language Workshop for K-12 Teachers

Location
TBA

Co-sponsored by COERLL and the Center for European Studies, the French Language Workshop for K-12 Teachers" will be held June 6-8, 2011.
In this workshop, “Français interactif and Language Pedagogy,” participants will be introduced to the changes and improvements that are currently underway to Francais interactif and its umbrella site. The umbrella site was created to reach out to the learning community of teachers and students using, or interested in using Français interactif.
In addition, various lecturers and graduate student instructors and TAs from the UT French Department will present classroom materials they have created, the theory and process behind the creation of such materials, and how they can be used as supplementary material to any curriculum. Finally, we will discuss best practices in a communicative language classroom setting. Participants will work together to create several activities that they can use in their classrooms that reflect these best practices.
The workshop will culminate with a lunch offered by the Center for European Studies and the Department of French and Italian at the beautiful Campus Club in the ATT Conference Center.
The workshop, including course materials and final luncheon, is free of charge.
