Globalization and global commerce have had profound impacts on educational needs both in business and in language instruction. For the first time, the Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs) at Michigan State University and the University of Texas at Austin are offering an International Business and Language Institute for community college faculty. The Institute will provide opportunities for business and foreign language instructors to jointly consider trends in international education, such as the impact of globalization on community colleges and cultural analysis in study abroad. In addition, the Institute will include sessions designed to address the more specific needs of business instructors and language instructors separately. Participants will gain insights into how to incorporate new content and techniques into their classes, practical advice on materials available, and be able to network with faculty from community colleges across the region.
